| The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was formed in 1993 through the consolidation of the Woodstock City Fire Department, the Woodstock Rural Fire Protection District and the Woodstock Rescue Squad.
WFRD covers approximately 85 square miles out of two stations and serves about 32,000 people in unincorporated McHenry County, IL and the following cities/villages:
- City of Woodstock
- Village of Bull Valley
- Village of Greenwood
Services provided by WFRD include, but are not limited to:
- Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and transport
- Fire Suppression
- Hazardous Materials Response
- Special Rescue Response (trench rescue, confined space rescue, vertical rescue, structural collapse, dive rescue)
- Fire Prevention
- Public Education
