Over the last few weeks WFRD has been out teaching children about fire safety and we couldn’t have done it without our great partners at NERCOM. A special thank you to our dispatchers for educating students about when to call 911 and creating a meeting place. You guys rock!

Tonight members of WFRD participated in the After Hours Nerf Battle at the Woodstock Public Library. This fun event was geared for kids ages 6-12. We had a blast being paired up with the kids and trying and capture each other’s team flag. It was a great event that we will look forward to again next year.

We enjoyed spending time with the kids at today's Touch-A-Truck event located at the First Presbyterian Church. This is an annual event that we always look forward to being a part of. The rest of the crews stayed busy sharpening their vehicle extrication skills in between answering calls.

It was a beautiful day for baseball with the Challenger Little League, Woodstock, IL. at Merryman Fields Park. WFRD's very own "Fire Pup" was asked to throw out the first pitch. After the game, players, coaches, family and friends walked over to Station 3 for hotdogs, chips, and a drink. This has become an annual event that we love being a part of.
