Part-Time Employment

Join us! Woodstock Fire/Rescue District is seeking eligible candidates for the position of Part-Time Firefighter/EMT-B or Paramedic!

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District is a combination department, employing both full-time and part-time firefighter/paramedic/EMT's.

In order to be considered for part-time employment, applicants must possess their Basic Operations Firefighter (Firefighter II) certificate through the Office of the State Fire Marshall, and be a licensed EMT or paramedic in good standing with the State of Illinois. National Registry Paramedics may apply for employment but will be required to obtain Illinois licensure prior to beginning employment.

Part-time employment with the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District offers several competitive benefits.

  1. For part-time positions, employees work a 24/48 schedule. This set schedule allows employees to budget fixed income and not have to compete for shift assignments each month.

  2. The District ran over 5,000 calls in 2022, while responding out of three stations. This call volume ensures that employees are exposed to a high volume and wide variety of emergency calls. The result is a well-rounded and experienced employee that will be an asset in any full-time position.

  3. In most scenarios, part-time employees are assigned to work with career employees that offer mentoring and guidance in career development.

  4. Benefits are available to part-time employees, including insurance, paid time off, and sick time.
