Woodstock Fire/Rescue District

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District provides the highest standard of emergency response. We are committed to excellence in every aspect of fire suppression, fire prevention and emergency medical services for the greater Woodstock area.
In April of 1993, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was formed after a referendum passed to consolidate the Woodstock Rural Fire Protection District, Woodstock City Fire Department, and Woodstock Rescue Squad. That same year, members of the Woodstock City FD ran a total of 231 calls for service.
The District now responds to over 5,000 calls for service yearly. About 76% of these responses are for medically related emergencies. The District provides Paramedic Level Advanced Life Support (ALS) services while operating under McHenry Western Lake County EMS System IX.
The District is made up of 39 full-time/Career members, 18 part-time FF/EMT/Paramedics, and 4 Administrative positions. WFRD proudly serves the City of Woodstock, Village of Bull Valley, as well as unincorporated portions Door, Seneca, Heartland, and Greenwood Townships.
